Handheld printer questions
What surfaces can the handheld printer print on?
Cardboard, paper, wood, plastic, PET, metal, pipes, cables, stone and more. Water-based inks suit porous surfaces like cardboard and wood; solvent inks are used for non-porous surfaces like plastic, film and metal. Tell us your product and we'll recommend the right cartridge.
Is it difficult to use?
No. It has a touchscreen interface — create your message, press print and roll the printer across the product. Most operators are printing within minutes, and we train your team on setup.
Does it need cleaning or maintenance?
Very little. Every HP-based cartridge includes a new printhead, so there are no nozzles to flush and no daily cleaning routine like with continuous inkjet printers.
Can it print dates that update automatically?
Yes. It prints auto-updating production and expiry dates, multiple date formats, shift codes, counters and serial numbers, as well as barcodes and QR codes.
What does it cost to run?
Running cost depends on the size of your code. The printer shows ink usage and cost per print in real time — ask us for an estimate based on what you print and we'll include it with your quote.
